About David
David Turk grew up in Hamilton County, attending Noblesville High School before heading to Purdue University, where he met his wife Rachel and earned his BS in Biology.
After college, the two moved to Champaign, Illinois to start their family. When COVID hit, the experience in their local schools was a hard lesson in what bad looks like. Their son James is blind, and the school's answer was to teach him Braille over Zoom. That was not acceptable. In the fall of 2021, David and Rachel moved their family to Fishers specifically because of how good HSE schools are, and they have never looked back.
Their three kids, Lore, James, and Lyon, all attend Brooks School Elementary. The special needs programs have been a lifeline for James, and the difference from what they left behind is something this family is grateful for every single day.
David is a real estate developer and problem solver who has always found value in the public school system. His mother was a public school teacher who poured her heart into her students, often spending her own money to make sure they had what they needed. He knows how hard teachers work and how much they deserve a school system that works for them too.
HSE has given his family so much. Now David wants to give back.
